Gimmick or not?

A new approach to the project. The idea is to capture an absolute that is removed from its context, future and past. “a fly trapped in amber” to quote Wollen. Feed back would be much appreciated. The form is again loosely based on Rodin, lit with a low key set up and shot on the imacon digi-back mamiya RZ set up.

The latest shoot from the project. please let me know what you think. The postures are from Rodin’s Gates of Hell 1880-1817. The idea is that the people who arent main figures, the extras of the piece are the postures that we are attempting to steal, reinterpret and generally change. The results are mixed. All missing limbs etc are in camera and made with the lighting, the only retouching is on a couple remove a bit of red and a bit of darkening for dignity.

The following are from my last test shoot. As yet the lighting remains unresolved but natural light has a cleaner, nicer look, but is a lot more of a pain to work with. Modeled by Dan Smith, again the postures begin in the 14th century but as you can see they aren’t right. All thoughts are welcome. Looks a bit loose at the minute.
